Getting Rid of Pet Hair and Dander

Posted by rixz - June 19th, 2011

One of the most common problems with four-legged members of the family is the hairs and odor that they leave almost everywhere they go inside the house. This is bad, especially if the family has a baby or members with asthma or allergy, but throwing away those beloved pets is not an option, more so if the pet has already become attached to the family. As a solution, Miele introduced their impressive line of Miele vacuum cleaners to help pet owners with their cleaning needs.

Cleaning pet dander and hair from carpets and furniture using ordinary vacuum cleaner not designed for the task is useless. Removing them one by one, on the other hand, is impossible. Spraying perfume to remove or mask the odor will not help and sometimes the combination of the odor and the perfume just makes the smell more unpleasant. By using the Cat and Dog model from the line of Miele vacuums, making your home odor, hair and dander-free is not only possible but and easier task.

The success of the Miele Cat and Dog vacuum cleaner relies on the airflow in the vacuum that allows the easy pick up of the dust, dander and pet hair that got stock on the couch fabric cover and the carpet. The airflow is generated by the vacuum cleaner’s 1200 watts motor. With the help of the vacuum’s power brush which loosen the hair that got magnetized on the floor and on the carpet, the vacuum uses its powerful suction ability to remove unwanted particles and smell from the floor, curtains and upholstery.

6 Surefire Tips to Resolve Office Conflicts

Posted by rixz - June 14th, 2011

A conflict in the office can make life miserable for absolutely everyone there, whether they are directly involved or not. Even worse, an office conflict can significantly impact the quality of life for people outside the office, such as family and partners at home. For the health of your office and the health of the lives of everyone involved, it’s imperative to resolve any office conflicts in timely fashion. Here are some tips that are sure to help.

Six Great Tips for Resolving Office Conflicts

1. Look for the real problem. Conflicts are normally the result of a long-standing issue (personality conflict, etc) and more often than not what you are seeing is a symptomatic result. Resist the temptation to only put out the small fires and get to the heart of the conflict.
2. Set the stage. Every office should have a standard and/or policy governing behavior in the office. Make sure that everyone is clear on what is expected as a standard, and adhere to it. Not only will this pre-empt conflicts to begin with, but it gives you a clear policy and standard to fall back on to bring people back in line.
3. Be an example. Leaders are in that position for a reason, and employees will look for that expected example. Be the example that you want to produce in your office environment. You need walk the walk, not just talk about it. Do not expect a favorable response from your employees if you cannot live up to your own standards.
4. Acknowledge differences. You can never expect that conflict will not occur, and you can never expect all people to get along without disagreement. The fact is that disagreement is inevitable in the office setting. Acknowledge to your staff that you understand this, but that in the interest of productivity and focus, these respected differences must be resolved.
5. Maintain focus. Especially when people are in disagreement, it is easy to get sidetracked and let a conflict become about many small grievances or complaints. Be the leader and maintain focus on the heart of the matter, and also keep the focus on a solution. Make sure that everyone understands a solution is the goal, and keep moving towards that goal.
6. Be prepared to draw the line. There are times when “push” comes to “shove” and there are times when, for whatever reason, some people will not cooperate and work in the spirit of conflict resolution. When you feel you and others have honestly put the effort into resolving conflicts in the office, but someone is standing in the way of that resolution, be prepared to draw the line and let the perpetrator go. Make it clear that you will do just that if necessary, and follow through if need be. This will make it clear that not only do you command respect and cooperation, but also that you are prepared to do what is best for the office and your company. The others who are left will only respect you for it, understanding that you have their and your company’s best interests at heart.
